Graduation Party entertainment – Magician Joe Ferranti
In May, I performed for the graduating class at Billerica Memorial High School. I had already received my vaccination, but the students hadn’t yet. To follow safety protocols, we all wore masks throughout the show. Even with those precautions, the evening turned out fantastic. Everyone had a great time. We made the most of the moment, knowing the pandemic still lingered.
Jump ahead to June 6th—Newburyport High School’s graduation celebration. This time, every student had received their vaccination, and we finally returned to the kind of magic I love most. No restrictions. No barriers. Just pure Close-Up Magic, performed the way it should be: “Close Up and Personal.” The students, all 17 or 18 years old, absolutely loved it. Compared to me, they’re still kids—but these young adults are heading off to college soon, ready to attend in-person classes. After months of limitations, they finally got a well-deserved break.
Of course, we’ll all face more challenges ahead. Getting back to “normal” won’t happen overnight. But I wish every graduate the best of luck. I truly enjoyed meeting you and sharing a few magical moments.

That brief return to normal didn’t last. Vaccination rates have stalled at 54%, which isn’t enough to slow the spread or stop new variants. Still, clients continue to book events through December. They’ve already reserved venues and made plans. Let’s stay hopeful that we can gather safely and keep the celebrations going.
